With hundreds of hospitality programs cropping up in universities around the world, along with a wide variety of both national and international employee recruiting programs, it is important to highlight your skills and experience successfully. Designing an informative, attractive, and professional industry resume that shows your potential employers what you are capable of contributing is challenging -- but it can be done. Resume tip #1: Every skill is relevant in the hospitality industry.

Are you new to the hospitality industry? Have you spent a significant amount of time working in other fields? The hospitality industry requires an incredibly diverse set of skills. Ensuring that guests are always happy means performing different types of tasks every day. Moreover, being specific about your accomplishments show that you are truly engaged in your work. someone who “assisted guests with check in and check out, offered advice and suggestions on local activities and attractions, secured local transportation, and put guests in touch with local services as needed” sounds a lot more focused and proactive than someone who ”performed front desk duties.”


Resume Tip #4: Success in the hospitality industry is all about attention to detail, so get the details right one crafting your resume.

Small things such as spelling, organization, grammar, and consistent design will make you look for more professional and well prepared for the challenges that your future job entails.
